Hello everyone,
What a gorgeous few days we’ve had in a row! David takes Zoe out to the garden here everyday, and each day Zoe becomes more and more capable of walking on her own. Today she pulled her hands away from ours and walked by herself around the garden, up to the elevator, and to the neuro floor playroom where she played for quite a while. This progress is remarkable. It is a reflection not only of physical healing, but also of psychological healing as well. In the weeks before we came to Children’s, Zoe began losing the ability to use her right hand and, eventually, her right leg, and we could see that she felt quite insecure when she needed to engage her right side. Because of this, she is still quite scared to depend on her right side, so it is encouraging to see her overcome that fear with each step she takes and each time she uses her right hand. Please pray for her to grow in strength in both mind and body.
David and I are fairly well adapted to living here now, but we are hoping that the doctors will discharge Zoe within the next 48 hours or so. They are regulating the drug which helps her release the proper amount of urine, so when they are satisfied that they have the correct dose, they’ll let us go home.
Thank you for all the wonderful cards, acts of service, financial and time sacrifices you’ve made to help us. We don’t know how we would do this without you.
